World AIDS Day 2018
We Were Here: a World AIDS Day event
Saturday, December 1st 2018 from 7pm
Room S104 Theatre
Okanagan College
1000 KLO Road, Kelowna, BC V1Y 4X8
Please join us for a presentation of the Emmy-nominated documentary We Were Here, with a special appearance by its director David Weissman.
We Were Here is a generous, uplifting look at people and their stories from the early days of the AIDS epidemic: the fighters, the lovers, the friends and health care professionals who made a difference every day.
To mark World AIDS Day, REL8 Okanagan is co-sponsoring a FREE screening and talk-back
with this prominent documentary filmmaker, teacher, film programmer, public speaker and longtime activist.
Doors: 7pm
Greeting: 7:20pm
Film: 7:30pm
Admission is FREE
Parking at Okanagan College is FREE on weekend evenings after 5pm.
(We recommend that people park close to the front entrance by buildings H and S.)
This film is unrated, contains mature subject matter, and
-- because of the sensitive nature of an historical look at the 1990's AIDS crisis--
may be triggering to some people.
Support will be made available at the screening should guests need a gentle retreat.
